Personal home pages: Personal pages on this site can be accessed by typing http://www.vip.ocsnet.net/~username into the location bar of your browser, where username is the web username you chose when you activated your home page.
System CGI: We have provided a small library of System CGI scripts (server-side programming), including a graphical hit counter and a form-to-email gateway. You can find more information on these scripts here. Feel free to recommend new scripts to us; suggestions will be dealt with as we have time.
Personal photo gallery: Your personal web site also acts as a personal photo gallery! All you have to do is upload your photos (JPEG, GIF, PNG or TIFF formatted) to a special directory (/MyWebsite/photos/) on our server, and we'll do the rest. Activating your home page: OACYS customers can activate their personal home page from the OACYS User Administration site. Most of our service plans come with 5 or more megabytes free web space, exact pricing is available at the OACYS User Administration site.
Can't find your site?: Our server processes new web site setups every five minutes. If you can't find a site you just created, wait a few minutes and try again. If after fifteen minutes your site still has not been created, please email our customer service desk at customerservice@ocsnet.net.
UPLOADING FILES TO YOUR WEBSITE
After creating web pages on your computer, you upload those files to the web server using any standard FTP (File Transfer Protocol) utility application program.
Although you may use any FTP program you wish, we recommend WS_FTP from IpSwitch for Windows machines, while Macintosh users often prefer to use Fetch from Fetch Softworks.
Follow the instructions for your FTP program to add the following configuration:

EXAMPLE USING WS_FTP
· Local Folder can be set to where web files are stored on your computer
· Upload directory is set in Advanced Properties > Startup > Remote Site Folder
Only those files you place in the upload directory (/MyWebsite) will be visible to the public. Your default home page file should be named index.html, any other names must be explicit in the URL.
IMPORTANT! OACYS does not maintain backups of your personal web site, the copy stored on your PC is your backup!
